Things that weight less than just my engine and transmission
A BMW 1200 GS adventure (525 lbs)
A Polaris 800 sportsman 4x4 (800 lbs)
Either one of the McGuire brothers.
(723-745)
Yeah, its 825 lbs. Holy lard lard. To put that in perspective a fully dressed Aluminum LS with 4l80E is 620 lbs.

I'm looking at somewhere around 440+82+20 or so - 550lb-ish wet for my engine, trans, and clutch.

The cast iron 6 in our Jeep weighs about 650 with transmission.

Mine was a BRAT, so technically half plus 200-ish pounds, but that's a big engine. Though I was watching a video of a guy 12V swapping his 80, and he pointed out that they were within an inch or two of overall length, and only a couple inches narrower.

I just got the 1 ton engine hoist from harbor freight on sale. Hopefully itll do the job. Everyone on mud is saying to remove engine trans and dif all at once. I'm skeptical...

Big & fat, but run forever. Fair trade. My coworker is building up his FJ60, and had to completely rebuild & reinforce an otherwise perfectly good engine stand to hold the 2F.
